    I am currently developing a site with the Avada theme. Because Avada is such a heavy-weight theme (read: bloated) I know we can’t use it for a production site… it has provided a lot of flexibility for us as we decided on basic design and added functionality (plugins, etc) but we’re done with that phase. So I’m looking for a recommendation on a lighter-weight theme that works well with GD but has some nice design/extension options. I understand that we’ll need to get some custom programming to add some of the features we liked from Avada. GD Framework won’t work for us, it may be great for GD but our site it much more than a directory.

    So… any recommendations?

    2012 – Depends what you want. I’m using Enfold and every time I switch back to 2012 I wonder what benefits I’m getting from Enfold, answer – not many!

    I’m curious why Genesis instead of the GDF and child themes provided by the GD developers themselves.

    @manilaboy – I don’t think Paolo was favouring Genesis over GDF…sfamilia stated he wanted an alternative to GDF. I prefer Genesis simply because i’ve been using it for quite a while for many projects, and i love the clean simplicity, ease of customisation and community support for the framework.

    Thanks, John. I haven’t used Genesis yet and is now inclined to try it. 🙂
