    Hi,

I’ve been reading the forum posts about themes but I need one clarification.

Let’s say I’m using Beaver Builder. The homepage can be created with BB theme. How about when users search for say Italian restaurants in XX?

The page displayed will be in GD layout or BB layout?

I’m using GD for its functionality but would prefer more customisation in terms of aesthetics.

Is it the same for Jupiter theme as well?

    Thank you!

    Hi there,

Thanks for your post. You’re correct. The homepage can be created with BB theme, but when you search a listing, the results will be displayed in GD layout. Builders cannot be used on any of the template pages with GDV1. But GD V2 is prepared for builder content in the content area.

    Thanks!

If you could say more about what you are trying to achieve we might be able to point you in the right direction.

GDV2 uses the theme style. Are you trying to rearrange fields for the archive item display, for example? Something else?

See this page if you haven’t already: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/templates/

    Hi there,

Thank you so much for the speedy response. Yes I read that page but I’m having a hard time digesting the information. I think I’ll probably end up hiring a developer to help me, though my initial plan was to try to do everything myself to keep costs low.

What I’m trying to do is to totally revamp the search results page and the listings page, in terms of position of images, size of images, amount of detail provided on the search results, layout of different information on the listing page etc.

The layout of search results will look like something as attached, but in restaurant directory terms.

Would Jupiter or Beaver Builder be better suited to my needs?

For e.g., Jupiter’s theme allows full customisation in their product page (ecommerce). Would it make sense for me to use the product page as my listing page or would it result in a directory that becomes too heavily loaded or would it conflict with the directory ?

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I’ve checked the screenshot and I believe it’s technically possible with custom CSS stylings. Maybe you can start with Beaver Builder or any of our themes here https://wpgeo.directory/ and we’ll try to help with the stylings a bit.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kor,

Thank you so much for the very prompt support once again. Can I just double check, if I use Jupiter theme, I can use their “product page” as my “listing page”?

Thank you so much for your time 😀

    Hello,

these types of changes are easier with GDV2. Consider hiring an expert to help you upgrade your site and sort out a new display for your archive item template.

As Kor mentioned, it should be possible to achieve what you are looking for, but it will require some skills from an expert, it is not something that can be helped by a template, theme, or other plugin really.

There are several experts available who can help to setup sites:
