    Hi,

We just moved https://getdirections.asia to Siteground. The maps were working fine after the migration, but since this morning the maps are kinda blacked out and are showing the following error:

This page can’t load Google Maps correctly.

We checked the API keys and the billing. All seems to be set up correctly. It worked for the past year. The only thing we changed since making the switch to Siteground is the caching and using their SG Optimizer plugin.

Any ideas what might cause this problem?

    Thank you,
    Tony

    Hi Tony,

Thanks for your post. Could you recreate the google Api key? It says “Google Maps JavaScript API warning: NoApiKeys” when I check your Website console.

Hi Kor, I did this already twice this morning. When I add the Api keys the maps show fine until I refresh the page. Really no idea what’s happening.

Have you tried turning the caching off?

I tried a bit of everything. The only thing we did after transferring the site is added the SG Optimizer plugin from Siteground. Any issues with that that you might know of?

I found it. In the SG Optimizer plugin is the following setting:

    Defer Render-blocking JS
Defer loading of render-blocking JavaScript files for faster initial site load.

If I enable that the maps show the API key error. Maybe good for reference.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Thanks for letting us know. Here’s our section on caching: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/faq/performance/#cache
