track outbound links

    I’ve been looking how to track outbound links that the directory refers out to the listers on my site. So, after many ways of trying to achieve this I thought maybe I can use a url shortening system like bit.ly to track these. Any thoughts? Any other ideas. I just want to be able to put a figure at what kind of traffic is being generated from the listings for the listers.
    Any suggestion I’m all ears. Also, would there be a way to mask the hover text over the website link? I want to avoid showing the bit.ly address and still show the real web address if possible.
