    Hi,
    We want to setup Google Tag manager to record the values visitors search on in the Near to Field.

    In order for this to work the button must be a type=”submit” – excellent post here on the technicalities of Google TagManager and Form Triggers :- http://www.simoahava.com/analytics/track-form-engagement-with-google-tag-manager/ – point 2

    On the basic search form in GeoDirectory , the type=”button” and therefore we won’t be able to do the tracking.

    Realise this isn’t an easy fix but would be interested in any response or any other method of recording the values of the searches.

    Thanks

    Hi Helen,

    We cancel the submit process then run some JS code first then submit the form with jQuery($form).submit();
    I have not worked with tags manager much, will it not track a jQuery submitted form?
