    Hi,

I have tried transferring a wordpress site with the geodirectory plugin installed from dev to live with 2300 records already in – I did this via FTP of all site files followed up by export of the database, find and replace the domain name before importing onto the live server and changing the wp-config to the live DB connection.

When I login to the live WP, there is no Places menu item on the left hand dashboard menu, and no map or listings show on the front end – however they are in the DB if I look with phpmyadmin

I guess I’ve missed how to migrate it across, I know plugins can lose settings when migrated in this way but what I need to know is how I should transfer it from dev to live, or if there is a step out of how I have done it that I have missed.

Hi Michael, usually following this suggestions
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
    should be a smooth operation.
Have you run the GD Tools after the migration?

Eventually please post URL and login details in a private reply.

    Hi Simone,

Aha, never done that rename the site before exporting the DB method, that sorted it out, and now they are showing fine.

    Many Thanks,

    Michael
