Translation and modification of Supreme Directory Theme

    Hello,
    I would like to translate and modify the theme: Supreme Directory.
    I have installed the theme according to documentation.

    My question is: should I create a child theme of Supreme Directory to do all the changes?
    For example: when I create a child theme of Supreme Directory, the search option on the front page is not appearing.

    How can I translate and modify the theme?

    I am bit confused because in the documentation it is said:
    “Supreme Directory is a Child Theme of our free Directory Starter theme”
