New WP install with GD plugin intstalled, Directory starter and spreme child theme active. GD not configured yet. There is one additional maintenance plugin active. (see https://wordpress.org/plugins/minimal-coming-soon-maintenance-mode/)
I’m Now logged out of site. When loging in I get redirected back to the maintenance holding page with no access to admin. URL shows as follows:

    https://****.com/gd-login/?logemsg=1&redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2F****.com%2Fwp-admin%2F

This looks like a GD redirect. However, I need the maintenenace plugin to be active while in development. Your advice how to get access without revealing a site in dev mode please?

    Thank-you.

    Hello,

GD should not prevent you from having a maintenance mode plugin active, generally speaking.

most sites allow you to go to /wp-admin/ after admin login, unless that has been specifically redirected. Have you tried that?

Once logged in you can go to the settings on the GD page and enable backend access for visitors at GD – General (settings).

Let us know how it goes

Hi Alex, thanks for the reply. I’m aware of the normal operation and I have not set any redirects. The maintenenace plugin (that Ive used several times before) simply sets a default screen over non admins visiting the site. I’m logging is as the administrator, so I should have access. After logging in, calling /wp-admin/ simply returns me to the holding page with the URL as above as if I’m not logged in. Looks like I’ll have to disable the maintenance plugin in FTP to gain access, but this should really not be required. Maybe you could recommend a maintenance plugin that plays nice with GD?? Not had this problem before …

    Yes, I’ve cleared cookies.

    THank-you.

Yes, it does sound like the plugin should be disabled via FTP.

We can take a look at the site to see what the problem is. Just make a private reply and include WP Admin credentials, along with FTP.

Thanks Alex, I’ve replaced the maintenenace plugin with the ‘fruitful code version’ and it works as expected now. Something weird with the other one’s redirect, but no need to ruminate over this now. 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback
