    Hi,
for each CPT I set up several custom fields (multi-select, not “required” type):
    CF1:
    -A
    -B
    -C

    CF2:
    -E
    -F
    -G

When I publish a new listing, if I realize I made a mistake selecting one specific Custom Field (ie: CF1-A instead of CF2-E), I’m not able to edit the listing again and un-select that specific custom field: it lets me change the selection within that specific custom field (CF1-B instead of CF1-A), but not to simply un-select the CF1-A.
I tried both from the front and the back end 🙁

Is that the way multi-select work, or is it a bug?

    Thanks,
    gianni

HI Gianni, maybe you are unfamiliar with these fields, if you wish to un-select please hold “Ctrl” and click.

    Hi Stiofan,
yes, I’m using the Ctrl (command on Macs) to unselect, and it seems to work on the preview page, but when I click “update” all custom fields return to the original selections.
It seems I can only change the selection inside one custom field or add new selections (if I selected CF1-B, I can unselect B and select CF1-A or even CF1-A and CF1-B), but if I simply un-select CF1-B and leave that custom field without any selection, nothing change after the update and the CF1-B will still be marked as selected.

I tried both option: Multi-select with “select” and “checkbox” display types without success.

    Thanks,
    gianni

    Hi,

I’ve just tested it and the only thing I seem to be unable to do is totally deselect all options from a CF that had 1 or more previously selected.

Becuase if I deselect an option and select another option, it works correctly.

    I’ll report this to developers.

    Thx

    Hi,
just another little comment about the multi-select CF behavior: it seems like only the “select” display type is correctly showing the “required message”, while the “checkbox” display always shows the standard message “This field is required”.

Attached an example of 2 identical Custom Fields, one with the Select display and one with the Checkbox.

    Thx,
    gianni

These have both been fixed in the upcoming version.
