I went through the article https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/places-categories-and-listings/ and have a good understanding of how the categories function, however, I’m trying to figure out how to go deeper than 2 levels.

The site I’m building is a business directory that has many categories. For example, someone may be interested in businesses that offers unique products, so they may search out:

All Natural Products > Apparel > Womens > Shoes > Running Shoes

I want them to be able to narrow down their search since there will be thousands of company listings, without having to see results of other categories.

I was thinking I can use tags, but they can’t be nested under parents tags.

What I’m looking to integrate is kind of like the search function on this site: https://facetwp.com/demo/cars/. Is this possible?

    Hi,

the maximum depth of catgeory allowed is actually 3.

Category – Sub category and Sub sub catgeory. However it would be better to use only 2.

With that many level of catgeories the maps would become unusable.

    Thanks

I don’t mind going that much in depth since I’m not going to be using the map on this site. With that being said, what is the best way to make the search function work for doing those deep category searches?

Any word on the plugin being used with FacetWP?

    Hi,

FactWP is not aware of GD custom DB tables, its author should make it compatible or create an add-on.

For categories, the maximum level remain 3, no matter if you intend to use maps or not though.

    Thanks
