Understanding location and category

I cant seem to find the answer i am looking for.

There are two descriptions in categories.
The description and the top category description.
The normal description seems to be what is shown in snippet preview, therefore on google.
We can add description on top description to show on the front end.
We can add location information (i remember there was a good article on v1 on what you should be putting in here).

1. if we add location information, is this meant to be location specific with the mention of the category… is there an example of where this has been done… so i can work out what shows and therefore what i should be putting in?

2. The google info: does the location and category description become what google shows? (e.g. if i put location Leeds, list of performers in Leeds– is this what google will now use as the page meta?)

I guess what i am asking is also does using geo directories meta option (delisting Yoast), make things more specific… so that each location page is a new one for google (as different because location is listed, more longtail keywords).. as opposed to just one category description if using Yoast?

Does the Location information carry across all categories in CPTS (in different CPTS), so that you only have to write “location info” once?
