    Hi,

Just revisiting a topic that was unresolved from awhile back, wondering if there might be a different approach to fix.

Our main and sub-categories listed using the CPT Categories widget don’t line up properly or display well. We tried the solution you proposed in this post but it didn’t help much because the number of categories changes regularly and the blank spaces appear in multiple spots.

Wondering if the issue is due to the fact that categories seem to read from left to right instead of top to bottom? Is there some way to have categories appear in a single column and then apply that to a 3- or 4-column layout or text box? I did notice that if the widget is added to GD Home Right section, it flows as 1-column. Really looking for any way at all to avoid such an obvious gap as categories are listed. Any additional ideas would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

the only way to have them all look even is to give them a min height. That will leave some big white spaces though.

The reason why they are not looking good is because you have cats with 3 subs and other with more than 20.

It’ll never be perfectly symmetric. If you make it a single column, than you can’t break it in 3 or 4 evenly. That HTML will not allow it.

    Thanks

Can you suggest some CSS for this? Maybe assigning a minimum height and limiting subcategories (or assigning to different parent categories) might give us an acceptable look. Thanks!
