    Hi,

I have an unusual file in wp-includes called:

    lindex.php

I am wondering if it is a geodirectory file of some sort, or maybe evidence of hack.

It seems it maybe a hacker called “mister spy”, but I’m not sure – can I delete this file?

    I have attached the file.

    Thanks

    Alastair

I didn’t see the file in Filezilla. Did you yet delete it?
    If you didn’t, you can.
    Thank you.

I suggest that you install https://wordpress.org/plugins/sucuri-scanner
That plugin will find suspicious files.

GD doesn’t add any files to /wp-includes

    Thanks

I didn’t see the attached file.
Maybe, it’s better to have a copy?
    Sucury didn’t find anything.
    Core files are OK.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. I’d suggest that you contact your hosting provider too. Maybe they offer a tool that could help you with your issues.

    Thanks!
