Update question

    Hello, I wonder if plugin update is gonna get better? To be more precise, will updating plugins gonna stop making problems to existing listings? This is getting annoying… Every time there is an plugin update, I get messed up listings upon updating… Right now, all of my custom listings are disabled. This wouldn’t be a problem if a location marker on the map is on the right location, which isn’t… I’ve contacted my hosting provider to see if they have a backup of my website prior to last two GD update. If they don’t, I don’t know what to do as I haven’t added all of the listings on my website and don’t know their exact location…

    Updates should not affect any existing listings, unless the process is not followed correctly, or customizations have been made to your site.
    We’ll have a look at your settings if you like, just post your admin details.

    The last round of updates was a one off as we were converting to multisite DB structure, but this in no way could change the marker positions…

    I don’t know… Every time there is an update, i fear that something is gonna go wrong… Few updates ago, I’ve updated GD core (my subscription is expired) and after it updated my website showed an error and I could not access my website… So I manually disabled plugins and enabled it one by one… Somehow managed to make it work without errors but now my custom listings are disabled and location marker on the map is set to same (default) location for all of them…
    Still waiting for response from my hosting provider to see if they have backup from last month…

    You shouldn’t update the core plugin unless you update all addons too.

    Most of the time, when we update the core, we also need to released addon updates and that’s to make sure they can work with the new addition or fixes we introduced in the new core.

    ùIf you stopped your subscription and intend to use outdated addons version, you should keep using the core version that was released with them.
