After the update, it looks like my category taxonomy has been affected, leading to most categories now having a “-1” appended at the end. When I setup the categories on the site, I was careful to avoid duplicates across post types. I also lost most of the category image specifications across all categories. I’d appreciate any help here.

    Hi,

I don’t think the the plugin update is responsible for any of that.
Please provide credentials and we will have a look.

    Thank you

You have duplicated categories, an example: http://logansquarist.com/wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=gd_placecategory&post_type=gd_place&s=active+life

Are they double in the sataging server too?

Can you please give us access to the staging website and to phpadmin of both websites?

    Let us know,

    Thanks

Are you sure you didn’t re-import all categories more than once? That’s the only thing that would make sense to me….

I’ve asked to Stiofan to have a look.

    Thanks

No – This issue was before I tried to mend the categories — the “-1” on most categories appeared after the plugin update. Thank you for further looking into this.

Any luck tracking down what’s going on? Thanks again for investigating.

    Hello,

This is because of the WP 4.3 update please see here: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2015/06/09/eliminating-shared-taxonomy-terms-in-wordpress-4-3/

I’m marking this as resolved, just let me know if you feel it’s not.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Thank you — this is helpful information. Do you know if this also affected the category image I designated across the directory categories? I imagine with the taxonomy change, it “lost” the category image? Just wondering. Appreciate the information.

    Thanks!

It Looks like it split the taxonomies so it has a new ID and the image also got lost, i would imagine the image is still on the server but there is no easy way to re-associate them both.
