Updated GD plugin one one site before realising it was V2! It's now not working.

    I can’t access wp-admin or the site. I get a 500 error. I did back up first as I always do and had a few plugin updates so didn’t notice.

    I didn’t expect that to be in just a general update notice but as it’s a lengthy process with a new plugin to download, I expected it to need to be done manually when ready or a deliberate action.

    Please advise.

    Hi Sue,

    Please provide wp-admin and FTP details and we will take a look.

    There should be an option to roll back if you accidentally upgrade to v2 but if you are getting and error then we need to find that issue first.

    You have the option to downgrade if you are not ready to convert yet.

    Thanks very much, Stiofan. Obviously the home page is blank now till I sort everything out. I can see my listings, etc in the wp-admin. Question is should I persevere now as it’s done and try to finish it or wait till later when I have more time? It’s a dilemma!

    I’m not sure I can remember all the widgets I set now! Sadly I don’t have a visual image of how it was, how it looked.

    I’ve started reading through the info. Not sure it’s that easy a process. (GT to GD wasn’t that easy!) I notice plugins need further updating before running the conversion/continuing. Then they need disabling.

    If I go back to V1 will it be as it was or will some settings have been lost there too? I’m using the GDF MODERN theme. Will it work with that? I’ll probably revert for now to be safe and ensure I’ve noted everything I wish to keep/redo.

    If you have not started the update and click the downgrade button it should just go back to the way it was, no DB changes have been made at that point.

    Thanks very much for all your help. I’ll downgrade for now.

    Please can you confirm V2 will work with GDF Modern when the time comes? I noticed on FB it won’t work with Whoop yet.

    Not specifically at the moment, though i will be looking at converting more of those themes tomorrow.
