URL in Google index

    After publish my site I’ve seen a lot of URL that I excluded from site map but that I see in Google results

    en/places/category/xxxxxxx
    places/category/xxxxxx

    en/places/xxxxx/
    places/xxxxx/

    en/location/xxxxxxx/
    location/xxxxxxx/

    location/france/xxxx/

    What I need:
    – don’t have these URL in google …know how to exclude these pages from google index (now) and from future indexing
    – how can I customize these pages? I’d like to make content simple

    Not being in the sitemap is not enough.

    You need to noindex them or add the URLs to your robot.txt file.

    You should be able to do either thing via Yoast plugin. Or you can follow this guide: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-robots-txt-for-seo/
