URL Redirection

    Hi,

    I am doing a geo directory admin panel customisation, custom role permissions etc for a client.
    I need do few .htaccess URL redirections (such as /wp-admin/edit.php –> /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=gd_place – this works) as well in order to meet the requirement.

    While doing this I found out that the following URL redirection doesn’t work.
    /wp-admin/post-new.php –> /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=gd_place.

    Can someone shed some light on this please.

    I can’t think of a reason that would not work, it does not seem to be a GD issue?
    The first url is for adding posts the second is for adding places.

    I have no idea myself why edit.php redirection works and the other doesn’t.
    Might come across the solution one day.
