    Hi Paolo,

I have provided exactly the same information previously and never been told this is an issue.

It seems once one issue is resolved, I am faced with another and I don’t feel I am receiving sufficient support from the GD Team.

I tend to agree with one of your reviews

“The general attitude of the developers is that the customer is always doing something wrong not the product.” referring to Guust’s statement above.

I’m afraid I’ve had enough and I would like to request my money back.

    Emma

Are you honestly telling me that if I switch to VPS, Geodirectory will miraculously work and cure all the bugs?

    Hi Emma,

I can assure you that on a VPS we can make everything work as expected. That is what happens for the vast majority of our users.

With 7000+ websites using the plugin, there would be a lot of angry people in the forum, if there were countless bugs like you imply. Instead, that is not the case.

Of course there can be conflicts with other plugins and sometime also small bugs caused by us, but we promprtly fix them all the time and that is the nature of open source software. We deal every day with code written by other people (WP developers, theme developers and other plugins developers).

No open source software is 100% bugs free. In fact, even most closed source softwares are not bug free as well.

However as I said, if you ask GoDaddy to move to a VPS and you pass us all new credentials (wp admin, FTP and phpmyadmin) we will make sure that everything is in order after the transfer.

I personally assure you that we won’t stop working on your website till everything goes back to normal. It shouldn’t take long anyway.

    Thanks

Changing theme will not change the update problem.
The WP Admin details have changed so we cannot check anything.

I am thinking about paying for a month subscription to VPS on Go Daddy to test out what you say.
I am reluctant to pay out more and change my managed wordpress until I am sure it will work.

    Can you tell me

    a) Will I struggle with VPS if I don’t have much technical expertise?

    b) Is my current theme ‘Dune’ compatible with Geodirectory? (I don’t like any of the themes Geodirectory offers) today I have been researching other themes such as Listify etc.

    c) Is Geodiretory compatible with Woo Commerce Bookings Plugin?

    d) Am I able to create a pricing table using Geodirectory?

    Thanks

    Hi,

    a) I don’t think there is much difference in terms of managing the servers compared to the managed wordpress plan.

    b) I never tested dune, being a Genesis CHild theme it should be compatible, and if there are some glitches it won’t be something that can’t be fixed.

    c) They are, but there is no integration what so ever at present.

    d) Using a plugin to create a pricing table is a bad idea: https://wpgeodirectory.com/are-pricing-tables-slowing-down-your-site/

    Thanks

Let us know all credentials once they moved your website so that we can check that everything is setup correctly.

    Thanks

I spoke to Go Daddy and they kindly moved me to shared hosting which doesn’t have the caching system which you said was the problem.

I gave them the thread link so they were able to take a look and they said because the shared hosting doesn’t have the cache system, shared hosting was best as I don’t have much technical expertise so would struggle with VPS.

They’ve migrated my site over but I’ve since gone on and I’m still having trouble with duplicate fields in the add listing section – exactly the same as what I had under managed wordpress.

Unfortunately I am completely new to this CPanel so now having a nightmare trying to access my site.

As soon as I figure it out I’ll send you login details but I don’t have much hope of it working given the fact I am now not under the caching system and its still doing that

Can you please post FTP details as well, then we can have a proper look.
