Using Payment shortcodes links in a href fields

    Is it possible to use the shortcode links in a href fields?

    For instance 

    <a href="[#renew_link#]">Renew Today!</a>

    I am asking because I tried to test this myself by making a test listing set to expire in 1 day where I have a 1-day expiry notification set with the above shortcode. However, I don’t know how or when the notification email is triggered, and haven’t received any notification.

    Can you also tell me when/how these notifications are triggered so I can better understand how to test future notifications?

    Am I an idiot? Does invoicing send notifications now?
