    Hi
We are using V2 with Supreme theme.
Testing our search options to find places I found that while searching for a city, search results work fine.
Example. I search for “Mahahual” and 2 locations are shown in Mahahual, a small town in Mexico.
But when you type in the country (Mexico) as your search, nothing shows, no results.
Also the map does not work well at some occasions.
You search for “Willemstad”. 2 results show up for places. Located in Willemstad. but on the map it shows no records.
When you search for “curacao” at least 2 places have curacao in their “adress field” but only one is showing.

In the settings the GEO DIRECTORY PERMALINKS are set to “custom base” with addition /%country%/%postname%/

The most logical behavior of people visiting our website and using the search option is to search for a place in a country and or city.

    Thanks for your help!

Please read about GD Search here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/

When a country search is done, the search will check from the ‘center’ of the country within the max radius for listings, so, it may miss some (or all, if radius is small).

V2 Search settings are covered here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/general/#search

    Hi Alex

Since we dont have so many listings yet….I did make some changes and put the radar to a 100 km. some examples. sometimes I do get the 2 listings located in Mexico when I type Mexico. And sometimes I dont.
“No listings were found matching your selection.”
When I search for curacao…Sometimes I do get 2 listings sometimes I I get no listings etc. The other thing. I do get the 2 listings, but on the right side on the map it says ” no records found.” While no problem showing the locations on the map when you just go to “accommodatiosn”

    THanks for your help

If you want to make sure you users find your listings you can

    1. Create links to the location pages for each country
    2. Direct users to the CPT listing page /accomodations/ or the like

Make sure you are showing enough listings there to show them all. You might set search to 200Miles and not catch all the listings in Mexico. If you have just a few listings all over the world, perhaps better to let your users browse definitive lists than make them search and miss.
