Hello, All. I’ve been trying to move listings from various CPTs to a new “destinations” CPT I created within the same GD environment. Basically, I’m consolidating listings from a current regionalized layout to a single “destinations” CPT with regions within using tags. I’ve come across various suggestions here within the forum and also within the V2 documentation but I just can’t get the listings to display the locations nor the categories properly. I made sure the categories have the correct respective category IDs within the new CPT. I tried clearing the lat/long fields in the import CSV file but nothing’s working. I even opened up my Google Maps API key in hopes that might work but nope. (I have some security concerns with that but according to various topics here, it’s suggested to not have any restrictions). There appears to be a permalink issue which might be part of the problem but when I try to view an imported listing, the description doesn’t show up. I’m wondering if someone could please take a look for me. I’ve been working on this for weeks and would just like to finish it up at this point so I can move on to the new design after the data has been properly imported.

I’ll include some additional sensitive info and files in a second private reply here.

    Thanks much, in advance.

    Regards,
    Kory

    Hi Kory,

Thanks for your post. I’ve inspected your Website backend and I noticed that some of the GD addons are not updated. Could you please update everything and retry again? Also, make sure that you’ve fill up all the requires address fields as I’m seeing some missing “zip” for some listings.

Hi, Kor. Thanks much for checking out the backend. I greatly appreciate it. I was wondering if the plugins being out of date may have something to do with it. My concern is, since this is a staging server and goes by “s.XXXXXX.com” and my GD license is registered under “www.XXXXXX.com,” (same domain; just different subdomains) I’m getting an “unauthorized” response when I attempt to update plugins. Is there a way around that? I understand GD is licensed per site. I’m planning on converting this staging server to my production server upon completion.

I’ll also double check the zipcode for some of the listings.

    Thanks again!

    Regards,
    Kory

Hi, Kor. I went ahead and changed the name of the server to http://www.XXXXXX.com and updated my local /etc/hosts file to point to server’s IP address. I was able to successfully update the GD plugins after doing so. I also attempted another import after adding the missing zipcodes. I’m still seeing “unknown” under locations. I’m going to try another avenue of, instead of updating the listings from one CPT to another, export them and then add them as “new” listings to the new CPT since I’ll be removing the original CPT anyway.

    Thanks much.

    Regards,
    Kory

Well, some good news. That seemed to work, e.g. exporting from the original CPT then importing into the replacement CPT as “new” listings. The “new” badge shows up, of course, but I can work with that. That being said, I think I have a game plan I can follow. 🙂

    Excellent!

In the future you can deactivate and reactivate the license.
