That’s the very last of it.

you want to upgrade to version 2 and then you buy the themes and all don’t work.

The old solution with widget areas was clearly better.

I just want my money back and look for another solution that does what it promises.

You can request a refund here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/refund-policy/

And we would be happy to take a look at whatever problems you may be experiencing and advise about how to get GD working on your site.

We use GD in a test installation at https://53804-much.de.

Things that made us despair during the update:

    1. XML re-import of categories and locations doesn’t work
Error message: XML format is wrong

2nd Starter Theme doesn’t work as expected right away

Due to the many problems we had to restore the backup of V1.

Why change a working plugin so that it is no longer compatible with the previous version?

Or why don’t you design the update process so that it solves the problems directly by itself?

    1. It is true there has been an upgrade to the format of the CSV files to make them more readable, but this also makes reformatting of v1 files necessary.
    2. It is a complete rewrite with literally hundreds of improvements that give more control through the frontend so some changes are to be expected, but if there is something specific about the directory starter theme that we can help with please let us know.

It would be nice if the Starter Theme was set up to look like it does on the thumbnail.

Because the picture it is offered with has nothing to do with what it looks like after installation. And intuitive is different.

Is there anyone who can update to version 2 and create a simple child theme for starters for a small fee?

The starter theme demo is here: https://wpgeo.directory/starter/
And the supreme demo is here: https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/

Any of the experts here can help you with upgrade and setup of any theme with GDV2.

But if you have questions please do post them here and we will be happy to help! 🙂

Okay, let’s assume that I’m updating to version 2.

if I then buy the following for version 2:

    1st GeoDirectory Framework
2nd GDF Modern – GDF Child Theme
    3. a few Adons

do I still have to change the design myself for days or does the Child Theme then work out of the box as shown on the thumbnails?

GDF has not been upgraded to GDV2 yet. The only themes we offer for GDV2 are Directory Starter and Supreme, BUT GDV2 will work with any other 3rd party theme, so, you could keep your current theme if you like.

The DS and SD themes work as shown here:

The starter theme demo is here: https://wpgeo.directory/starter/
And the supreme demo is here: https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/

Some configuration may be needed, to match your sites’, but it should not take long.
