    I would like to add a link to the menu if a user is logged in that takes them to a list of their favorited places. What’s the best way to do this?

    It cannot be added in the menu, but you can use the GD Login widget:

    If you use other plugins like Buddypress or UsersWP then there may be other options, so if you need more information, then post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply.

    Hello:

    If not using Buddypress or UsersWP then I would create a page that uses the GD_Listings shortcode as Alex suggested and then when users are logged in to link to that page in your menu.

    Sorry for the late reply. I created a new page with the listings shortcode that Alex suggested and then just linked to it.
