    Hello –

I’ve read other threads but cannot seem to find how to have the near-me page go to the nearest city instead of the near-me page?

    Can GD do this?

    Thank you

The Near Me pages will always serve listings around the geolocation of the visitor.

You can review the “Redirect to nearest location” function explained here, but that only works on entry to the site, not with the Near Me button: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/search-filters-overview/#near

    Thanks

    Hi Guust –

    Thank you for the reply!

So the settings on the attached picture should take the customer to a particular city when they land on the page for the first time if they’re in that city?

For instance, I should land on the Carpinteria page if I’m in Carpinteria, instead of the near me page, correct?

Or if I’m in the next town, it should still pull up Carpinteria if there’s nothing in the “next town”?

    Best,

if there are listings within the set search radius, a page will be served with those listings and the location of the visitor
if there are no listings close to the visitor, then the system will look in your database to determine what the closest location is to the visitor

So if a visitor is in Carpinteria, a page will be served with those listings within the set search radius, not the Carpinteria page [although they may be the same listings, if the visitor is exactly in the center of Carpinteria and the city has the same size as the radius set].
If a visitor is somewhere close to Carpinteria, and there are no listings near their location, they will be sent to the location page for Carpinteria if that is the closest city that is in your database.
