Want to disable "Places"

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    I read on this forums that If I delete all the listings from the Custom Post in this case “Places” and then Disable it from the GD>Home>Maps the places should be gone.

    But in the front end Under the User Dashboard where it says

    Add Listing the drop down shows Places and the new Custom Post I created both but I just want to show the Custom Post and not the default “Places”

    Also on the Home Page it says Popular Places whereas I want the Custom Post to be displayed there where and how do I do this?
