Welcome login not working

    On one of our websites, http://www.welovemelbourne.net has an issue with the Welcome login box within the right header as it is not working. It will not send users to the author page. Just redirects back to home page.

    I have this set up on other sites and they all work fine. Have checked all the settings on our other sites and they all look to be the same.

    Any ideas please?

    Hmm…it is working as supposed..after logging in, it will redirect back to the previous page, so if you’re on the home page, you will see the homepage after the log in

    yes but when you are logged in and click on your name, it should go to the author page / dashboard, but it stays on home page. Our other sites work correctly and send the logged in user to author page.

    How else would a logged in user get to the author page?

    I see the issue. There is something wrong with the WordPress SEO plugin and the settings, I think the social part is not configured properly, it throws a mismatch URL error between Facebook and your website, and if you disable the WordPress SEO plugin, it works as expected.

    The application URL must have the same URL address of the website, please check the Facebook App settings

    which plugin do you mean, the Yoast SEO? This is very odd you mention this as a problem as all our other sites are using exactly the same plugin and work fine.

    Which Facebook App settings should i be looking at?

    Yes, WordPress SEO (aka Yoast)
    the social section of the plugin, Facebook, I think something is wrong between this and the Facebook app created on the Facebook Developer area

    i have deleted the social link on yoast to facebook and has made no difference?

    That was just a thought, by the way, there is something in the Yoast settings causing this issue, if you try to deactivate it, all is working.

    Fixed it! Was an author setting in Yoast set incorrectly. Thank you for your help
