What are neighborhoods in the US

    What exactly are neighborhoods in the US?

    For instance this address
    Canoga Park, CA 91303.

    Is Canoga Park within the City Los Angeles, and so enter both City field and Neighborhood Field. Or should we just enter neighborhood field as Canoga Park, leaving City blank?

    Are they part of cities or not under cities at all. Just want to understand this. Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

    Thanks for your post. Neighborhoods are areas within a city or can be considered smaller towns.

    Just need clarification since you used the word “or”.

    Are all neighborhoods located within cities?

    Yes, in my experience all neighbourhoods are inside cities.

    For GD they are ad-hoc, meaning you can setup a list of neighborhoods that works for you in a particular city. You can use the ‘official’ ones and get the list from Wikipedia or the city website, or you could make “North” and “South”, as you see fit.

    I lived in a city in the USA that had ‘villages’ and those were not different cities, just a different name for what might be called neighbourhoods.
