I am trying to sort out the Yoast SEO not working (breaking) the meta description for regions and cities.

Looking at the Geo Directory tables I notice there are two fields for what appears to be the same information.
    Table: wp_geodir_post_locations
    Field: city_meta

    Table: wp_geodir_location_seo
Field: seo_title (not the field name I would have expected)

I know they aren’t just copies as the data in them isn’t always the same.

What is the purpose of having the two sets?

It almost seems like the wp_geodir_location_seo table hasn’t been done correctly. I can see that having a difference between the SEO title and the normal city title is good, but this doesn’t seem to be the case.

I can’t see why you would need two different city meta.

    Hi Craig,

You are right, the wording is off, one is used for the meta description and one is used for the actual on page description via widget.
