I am looking for some tips/advice about using GD now and in the future. Really it is advice about using multi-location/multisite/multi-currency. The website is https://tennisreferrals.com

    1. At the moment, it will be a directory for 1 country (UK) and use multi-locations for different regions and cities.
    2. In future, I would like to have directories for other countries with monetization in local currency (mostly £, $, Euro )
    3. May be different Ads/RSS feeds on the right columns for different countries. (not critical).

Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Did not find anything on forums/Doc.

    Hi,

if you need different currency and ads per country, you’ll need 1 website per country. In that case using multisite is a good idea.

    Thanks

I will appreciate if you can point me in the right direction.

Came across “multi-currency” blog on the forum, and it seems it will be best if I have a sub-directory for each country, and therefore each folder (site) will have its currency.

I successfully converted my Single Site to a Network Multisite. But now when I try to create a new site it is creating a subdomain site. I believe subdirectory has better performance for SEO. I think this is because I had an existing site. I have a backup of my Single Site. What can I now do so that I have a Multisite based on subdirectories?

Is there a way to have the default site according to the country accessed from in a multisite networked setup?

I think WPML has a similar feature if you create a multi lingual website, but ask to their support for confirmation. I’m not 100% sure.

If you go the multisite way with 1 website per language, you’ll probably need a custom solution.

    Thanks

    Hi Paola

All my website will be in English for some time, so should I concern myself about WPML?

I’m sorry I think I misunderstood the original question, there is no option to do something similar without a customization.

    Thanks
