    Hi,

We have someone helping us with editing some of our merchants listings. On the old GT theme, he was able to login and had access to edit listings but did not have access to make any site changes.

Now that we’ve migrated over to GD, we’re not sure which similar user role to assign to him…? Again, we just want him to help with editing customer listings but not make any site changes.

Which role should we use “Editor” or “Contributor”?

    thank you!

They will have to be at least editors, and you will need to set GD > General > Allow user to see wp-admin area > YES

    Hi Guust,

Will setting this option to YES allow all users to see the wp-admin area? We only want the admin area viewable to our support team. Please confirm before we make this change.

    Thank you!

    Hi Guust,

I just updated the setting to YES for allow all users to see the wp-admin area and then logged in with one of my test user accounts that’s set up as Editor.

When I logged in, I can see where it’s giving me restricted access so that the Editor role cannot make any GD changes. However, it does still give me access to change the pages we’ve setup, which is a little concerning.

Is there another user role option that we can use to allow our support person to edit and update Places for our merchants without granting authorization to Pages? To prevent the support person from changing any of our pages?

    Please explain.

    Thank you!

Subscribers will only be able to change their profile.
GD listings are like posts and pages are like posts too, so editors can edit all those types of posts.
You might have some luck with user role plugins like https://wordpress.org/plugins/user-role-editor/
