    Hi,

I want to enable the sort function on my search results page. Right now, only when I click on the category will the sort function be available. If I search, I cannot sort the search results. Please help, thanks!

I think sorting is not available on the search page, they are automatically sorted by distance from the NEAR field.
I know it says “You may drag and drop to arrange fields order in sorting option dropdown box on Listing listing and search results page.” in the sorting options, so something seems incorrect.
I’ll escalate this question for you.

    Hello,

When “Near” is used it will return everything by distance, without “near” it will sort things by order of reliance to your search, it orders by many things and ordering by the standard ways could return unwanted and unrelevant results which could make search more confusing rather than better.

OK, so this is how it works (Stiofan, can you confirm?):

    When setting the sorting options:
    1. On the listings pages they will be sorted by the order you set, and a drop down menu will appear allowing your visitors to sort by any other sorting options you set up.
    2. On the search page, if you searched for something but left the NEAR field blank, your listings will be sorted by the order you set in the back-end, but there will be no drop down menu to re-sort differently.
    3. On the search page, if you searched NEAR a location, listings will be returned in order of distance from the center of that location you entered in the NEAR field, and listings cannot be sorted any other way.

Guust, thank you for the explanation.

It would be very valuable for my site to be able to sort after a search has been done.
For example, a search may be run on every location in New York City, but the user would like to sort the search results by descending rating. (Similar to how yelp works, etc.)

    Is this possible?

    Thank you,
    -Jeremy

Listings can only be sorted on the listings or category pages, not on location or search result pages.
