The template widget-listing-listview.php in a child theme is not being used.

I made a copy of my widget-listing-listview.php in /childtheme/geodirectory/widget-listing-listview.php, and made changes which did not appear. Editing of a separate template worked correctly. Confirmed by making the same changes to the core template file, and the change did appear.

This seems to be the same issue here (never fixed?).

    ALSO..
The Popular Post View widget should not cut off words when setting a character limit! The final word fragment should be removed by checking for a space or something. This looks really bad and unprofessional, and could be confusing to a visitor.

I confirm that the first issue indeed seems to be a problem still, and added it back on the to do list.

I’ll flag your second issue for Paolo to have a look at.
EDIT: On the listings pages, the excerpt is exactly like you suggest, it finishes with a word and then … before adding the “read more” link.

    Hi,

this is due to the listing page excerpt limit being based on words, while for the widget it is based on characters.

Having the widget based on words can lead to very inconsistent look.

I’ll flag this for developers to see if there is an alternative solution.

    Thx

This will now work from child theme in next release.
