Widgets lost during restore from backup

We have moved to a support ticketing system and our forums are now closed.

    Hi there,
    I’m having trouble when using Installatron cloning tool and/or using UpdraftPlus backup.

    Usually, I clone the site to a subdomain, make whatever changes the client has requested and then clone the subdomain to the main domain to make the changes live.

    In the past week, this process has not worked because the widgets for GeoDirectory do not come over with the clone as active widgets.

    So, I tried restoring from backup files (UpdraftPlus) from the orignal “live” site. And had the same result.

    Do you have any insight as to why this is happening? I’d appreciate any advice.

    Did you change the theme? That will de-activate most or all widgets.

    Do other widgets disappear too? Why do you think this is a GD issue?

    Did you check with Installatron and/or UpdraftPlus?
