Zip Code Error

    Hi,

    When adding in an entry at backend, under the Address – Zip Code field, when I enter the zip code and click the Set Address on Map button, the number entered in zip code disappears. Thanks.

    You can re-enter it after setting the location on the map. The Map API you are using is deleting the ZIP code, but you can change the ZIP and street address fields after setting the location on the map.

    Thanks Guust. Is there any way to fix it? It doesn’t look good to users when this happens.

    We cannot control the data provided by the Google or OSM API, but maybe there is an option not to replace the ZIP code with the API data.
    I’ll get the developers to have a look at your question too.

    There is not individual settings but you can stop it from changing any fields, see under GeoDirectory > Settings > Locations > Settings (show advanced) > Disable set address on map from changing address fields.

    I can see on the backend that there’s an advice saying highly recommended not to enable that. What are the repercussions of enabling it?

    Hi,

    This is strange. I didn’t tick the “Disable set address on map from changing address fields.” but the zip code doesn’t disappear now. So I guess it’s not a problem anymore. Thanks in any case!

    Because the map API addresses are very reliable, and many listings might be added that way, with the address being updated from the map icon position.
