I have changed the wording of some of the fields on the add listing page through the language files following the instructions here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-addons/
but all my wording edits have reverted back. In the PO file they look to be still intact however.
June 23, 2016 at 4:58 am #214377Hi Danielle,
Could this be a cache issue? Try clearing the cache and see if you’re able to see the changes. If the issue persists, do you think you can share temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look? Also, we would require FTP access to your server to check on the language files. You can post the details here using the private reply option below.
Thanks!

I quickly checked the 1st translated string (Region to State) and it’s there.
Can you give me an example of a string that should be translated and it isn’t?
Let me know,
Thanks

Please update your po file with the latest version and you will be able to translate it again.
We split the 2 words so that it can be done uniquely for each CPT.
Thanks
June 23, 2016 at 6:00 pm #214764if I update my PO file will I have to do my translation over again? is there somewhere where I can grab the latest PO file? I’m working on a local and push stuff up to live via GIT.
June 23, 2016 at 6:13 pm #214766No need, you can update your current PO file with poedit.
1. download the NEW PO file on your desktop.
2. Open your OLD file (the one with translations) with poedit, click on catalogue and Update from POT file.
3. it will ask to select the New file.
that will add the new translations to your old file.
Thanks
June 23, 2016 at 6:33 pm #214775Where do I get the New PO file? I copied it from /wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/geodirectory-languages/geodirectory-en_US.po but it didn’t seem to fix it.
June 23, 2016 at 7:44 pm #214830Correct me if I’m wrong, but it looks as though I can’t change the name of places on the back end or Place Title or Place Description because it pulls it from the CPT?
June 23, 2016 at 7:55 pm #214834You can change the Custom post type names m using the custom post type add-on.
Or you can translate “place” too.
Thanks
June 23, 2016 at 7:58 pm #214835I’m sorry to be a pain. But I have translated place and it works everywhere expect for the backend menu Place Title or Place Description am I missing something?
I can install the custom post type add on but i’m not using a custom post type, I just want place to be called listing.
June 23, 2016 at 8:00 pm #214837It is be possible to translate everything, so there must be a string missing somewhere. However the CPT add-ons will make you change it via options. I would suggest to install it, even if you are using it only to rename the default CPT.
Thanks
June 27, 2016 at 8:28 pm #217056Installing the CPT fixed my problem. Thank you.
