Hi there – I tried running a translation file (after converting to .mo) and it doesn’t work. I followed the steps in:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/getting-translation-files/

Then tried https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/how-to-translate/ but couldn’t find the WPLANG variable in the config file.

How do I get the MO (attached) file to work?

    Hi,

did you check this tutorial: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

Follow the text part (the video is slightly outdated), there is no longer the variable wp_lang in the wp_config.php file.

Now there is an option in Settings > General of WordPress.

Let us know how it goes,

    Thanks

Hi Paolo – I first uploaded the files into /wp-content/languages/ but nothing happened when I refreshed the home page (http://portugalanimal.pt).

So I created a plugins folder inside /wp-content/languages/ (so now I have /wp-content/languages/plugins), refreshed the home page, and still nothing?

    What am I doing wrong?

The second option should be the correct one.

Please provide admin and FTP credentials and we’ll check.

    Thanks

And nerver mind, just noticed I had the “wrong” portuguese selection in the settings page. My apologies.

One last question on this topic – where should I put the .mo files for the plugins?

    That’s cool!

They all go in here: /wp-content/languages/plugins/

    Please see: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translating-addons/

    I’ll set this as resolved.

    Thanks
