I’m trying to get the search bar to locate my places without having to select a CPT category. Is this possible? I tried even with dummy data and it would not locate unless I attempted to locate using exact place name.

Each place has the category selected yet I can’t use the search bar to locate. If I don’t use the search bar I can’t use the NEAR ME function or is that automatic based on my “redirect to nearst setting?”

    Hello!

Autocomplete on the search bar works. When I click your example listing I am taken to the page.

How many listings do you plan to have? Just one city?

If you add the GD > Near Me Button widget, and a visitor clicks on that button, they will be taken to a page showing the listings within a set radius of their geolocation.
To change this radius, go to GD > Advanced Search > GEOLOCATION SETTINGS section > Default Near Me miles limit (1-200) and change the setting there.

I would recommend disabling this setting for now.

Please read this to review how GD Search works. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/

    Thanks

If you want to only use one CPT, you should delete all categories and listings in the default Places CPT.

You should use small icons instead of photos for your map markers at Hairdresser categories.

The Relevanssi plugin breaks the GD search: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/#relevanssi

If you want another CPT to be the primary, you need to change the order at GD > Custom Post Types.
    See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/gd-search/#cpt

Let us know if you have any other issues.

    Thanks
