Appreciated. And perhaps they can provide some feedback on the effort required? if it doesn’t go on the roadmap soon I might want to pay a customization.
January 6, 2020 at 10:32 pm in reply to: Selecting a category from the autocompleter without activating the search #524341That’s a pity. Don’t you think this would be a more adequate behavior? If so couldn’t this be seen as an improvement?
I guess it would require changing the link target to update the text field, is it a hard customization to achieve?
January 6, 2020 at 8:03 pm in reply to: Selecting a category from the autocompleter without activating the search #524296Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply.
I have the Advanced Search, but what I need is that the action of selecting one of the items on the autocomplete dropdown doesn’t immediately trigger the search. Instead, I would rather have the selected option appear on the input field and let the user click on the search button (same behaviour as the “near” input box. This would allow the user to select an option AND a location.
See attached screenshot from your SD demo: clicking e.g. on “Attactions” will trigger search, and won’t allow the user to select a location…
Thanks

I suppose I need to delete the post_id first of all. If so, how is the wpml_translation_of column suppose to know to which post_id to relate to?
Should I first import the original language (in order to create the new IDs) and then (somehow) lookup the translation to fill-in the wpml_translation_of column?
Please help!
Thanks
Then it seems the documentation is wrong:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-export/#tipsJust to be clear, please confirm if this is what I should do:
1. Delete translations (to avoid duplication of posts)
2. Import listings (without ID, updated categories to new CPT)
3. Create franchising links
4. Translate (WPML)Seems like a very fragile process…
That’s it! Thanks!
Hi,
That’s frustruting. Any way to overcome this, for example using a redirect?
It’s really needed, as the site visitors often look for a basic searching functionality across the whole directory and may feel confused by having to select a CPT.Thanks

As a workaround I am insisting on the htaccess redirect. Any help would be most welcome! This reply has been marked as private.Hi,
I have done that a couple of times, no difference.
As said, it works well when location is not set, but keeps the /location/ in the url when location is set, resulting in the error.
I tried redirecting the /location/?s= to /?s= through htaccess but didn’t manage to succeed…Thanks
Ok. Then I might just go for two separate directories until we solve the issues.
