… I should just clarify: although waiting to see if the listing would go live after a few hours the money went straight into the Stripe account.
February 24, 2016 at 10:54 am in reply to: Listings draft/invoice pending if going through payment checkout #126915Hi,
I set up a £1 ‘Stripe Test’ payment package (in ‘No Food Waste CPT) yesterday and we bought a package, but it went to draft/invoice pending. I had set this up as a recurring payment so that i could test this functionality and wonder if this had an effect? (there is a similar current thread about new recurring listings in paypal going to draft: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/auto-recurring-listing-becomes-draft-after-payment/). I left it until today to check back in case this was something to do with bank clearance times and to see if it went live today – but no.
As an aside, I couldn’t find any documentation on how recurring payments works in terms of user experience or GD admin once set up: are customers sent a notification/request? – is money automatically taken from their account in 12 months time? (there is no mention of recurring payments at checkout for customer, so unless this is put in the Package title the customer won’t realise this is recurring).
Thanks

I’ll have a look at it and see how I go – I might try doing something with a pop-up instead.
This reply has been marked as private.I’ve just turned off the plugin Query Monitor – I guess that was installed and used by GD techies and can be left installed with no risk?
Thanks Paolo,
I was going round in circles for almost 2 hours this afternoon comparing it to previous CPT settings etc.

February 12, 2016 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Facebook (GD Social Like Widget) not counting in Google Chrome #121322OK, I think I have found out what is happening:
when I open the browser (Chrome) and then my website, the homepage is displayed, with the ‘like’ count for that page; then the browser automatically decides to geolocate me (cookie setting?) and re-loads the map with listings near to me – this is not treated as the same page and that’s where the count was re-setting to zero. How do I know it is not being treated as the same page? Because I set the widget to just show on GD Home page, and when the page reloads the widget disappears.
So I guess I am going to do without the social like widget.
I’ve turned off ‘Send to Friend’ for all my packages now (given that it is effectively ‘Send an email to anyone from anyone‘!) – the bug is still there though, for Free Accommodation listings package – if there is any interest in fixing the bug then feel free to activate ‘Send to Friend’ on that package temporarily for testing purposes.
Thanks
This reply has been marked as private. But surely you cant choose who the email goes to in contact forms (not in any I have come across in any case).
As set up, anyone could send any type of email to anyone else pretending to be someone else. OK, I was thinking about a scenario where listing owners could send emails to newspaper/magazine food critics recommending their own restaurants from addresses supposedly belonging to celebrity chefs, but thinking about it any kind of malicious email could be sent to anyone, pretending to be from someone else (the equivalent of cheated-on partner taking the scissors to the wardrobe!)
Maybe I’m being to cynical about human nature!

I’ll set it up for listing pages and then monitor it.
February 11, 2016 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Facebook (GD Social Like Widget) not counting in Google Chrome #120916… our messages are crossing! – ok, so I’ll only have the facebook likes for my site on the homepage, so as avoid spreading out my likes! I guess that means that listing pages can gather their own likes… now I have to find someone in FB-land to see what happens when I am liked.
Still the issue of disappearing likes…
