Hello!
To clarify:
1. GD may not be Network Activated. It can be installed on the Network site, but must be activated on each individual site.
2. Listings are not shared between different sites in a multisite.
3. Our plugin UsersWP can be used to allow users to have one user profile across multiple sites in a single multisite. https://userswp.io and for detailed info see: https://userswp.io/docs/network-activation/
If the user has one user account, with the same login info for each site, then it is that much easier for them to manage listings on each site.
1. Whitespace – Word docs aren’t coming through. Try this tool, some people like it. It allows you to draw on the screenshot. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/lightshot-screenshot-tool/mbniclmhobmnbdlbpiphghaielnnpgdp?hl=en
GDF Modern is a ‘spacious modern’ theme with a lot of whitespace. You should hire a designer if you want to adjust the layout and eliminate the whitespace.
2. Theme options – instead of the customizer try the theme options using the menu item “GDF Options”. You can see it in the screenshot attached.
3. Menu placement – yes those are the placement options that come with the theme.
4. Listing Descriptions – please send a URL so we can see that. Try the tool above to make a screenshot with an arrow to clarify which description you are trying to hide.
The only way to do it is to edit the child theme directly, it isn’t possible to do that with a snippet.
To avoid updates in the future you can modify the child theme. Here are a few solutions for that. This is not recommended, but it is possible. See: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/24123059/how-to-disable-theme-updates-on-wordpress-to-avoid-losing-my-changes

September 10, 2018 at 9:01 am in reply to: %location% placeholder in category description is not working #445981Hi Marc,
those tags are supposed to work, yes, on CPT listing pages. Can you share the link to the CPT listing page so we can check it out? Please also include WP Admin in case we need to check the settings.
There are two shortcodes, see:
Location Tab Switcher

to update one at a time, see the section #7 on this page: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/installing-addons/#updates
To use automatic updates, please disable the One . com updater, then enter your licenses and take advantage of automatic updates.
For 2, definitely check this out: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/linking-custom-post-types/
Yes, there is a WP settings in the “Discussion” settings at
WordPress – Settings – Discussion – Allow people to post comments on new articles
Hello,
1. Autotitles from custom fields – GD does not have options for that so it would be a customization.
2. Not sure what you are asking there. Do you have this setup already? Is there a problem with the setup?

You will need to enable comments on listings.
There is a WP settings in the “Discussion” settings, and then each listing will need to have comments enabled individually, too.
Hello,
You will need to customize the add-listing.php page template in the geodirectory-templates folder.
That is a complex template and what you are trying to do is outside of what we can do here in support.
