I adjusted the settings at GeoDIrectory – Design – Navigation to set the menu items.
lease review these settings and adjust to your liking.I was able to add events through the frontend and backend editor and was not redirected to the homepage.
Please let us know if the issue happens again, and how we can take steps to recreate it.

You should not use a zip code as a category.
Zip code is part of the address information.
About the redirection to the home page, please share the site URL and WP Admin credentials in a private reply and we will check on your site settings.

Categories for events can first be created at
Events Categories (from the menu)
After you create a category, then visit your listings and apply the category to each listing.

there is an update coming for Whoop to fix this Buddypress issue.
If you write back with WP Admin and FTP details, using a private reply, we can apply the patch to your site.
Otherwise, you can wait for a normal update to the theme, which will come out as soon as we have finished with testing, within a week or two.

If you want to use Google Maps API you will need to setup an account and get an API Key.
I have set it to Open Street Map for now.

I am sorry, I don’t quite understand. Could you say a bit more about what you would like to happen?
You can try GD Booster, or the WP Super Cache alternative, one may give you better performance than the other.
There is not a setting for that so it would be a customization.
Let me flag your topic and we can see if there is a workaround.
