If you are using https://OpenStreetMap.org Maps API you can visit the site and edit the map.
Depending on what you want to change, you can try editing the values in the GeoDirectory location database.

there isn’t a setting for that, exactly, it requires some manual work to get it set up that way. I can give you an overview but the way GD addresses work it will be up to you to maintain it.
To make “CA”, add a listing in a city in California.
Open the location manager to the cities tab, and edit the city where the listing was added: change the Region Slug there to CA and save.Let us know how it goes.

we don’t have a setting for a search with no results, but it’s a good idea and I will take it up as a suggestion for the developers to consider for a future version.
About selecting search themer layout, please try editing the page and adding the default content before trying to select it.
