Hello,
you might check to see if you got your snippets moved over, too. Is this the snippet you used?
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-code-snippets/#package
Let us know how it goes
February 14, 2018 at 10:10 am in reply to: Place Custom Fields – description and also linefeed #417528That ‘may’ work but it is not recommended.
You can add classes in the custom field settings, and then style them to match the other fields.
February 14, 2018 at 10:04 am in reply to: Modify Footer Credits Supreme DirectoryVersion: 1.1.7 #417527Hello,
you can find a snippet in this first FAQ on this page:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/supreme-theme-faqs/
For info about customizations with snippets you can read more here;
Hello,
I will flag your question for the developers.
Also, you might consider creating a new custom field that you can add to those listings:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/custom-field-improvements-in-new-v1-6-6/
You could add a custom field for ‘service area radius’.
In many cases the franchise manager is used to allow businesses to post listings into different locations (with less work than having to enter all the information again).
Hello,
GeoDirectory uses the model that users receive free listings or paid listings, and that it is up to the site owner to make their own arrangements if they want to control access to the add-listing pages. In general the philosophy is that more listings are better, but if that is not the case for your site, then you can find a Member/Access management plugin that can suit your needs.
Some members have mentioned S2 in the past, for controlling access to the Add Listing page.
Hello,
Please provide a URL so we can see the issue
Hello
1.) For the ‘place description’ field, can I make that just a simple field where the person claiming the listing does not have the option to change font styles, insert links, make bullet point lists, etc.? Basically I would just like a text box the same size as it is currently minus all of the customization options.
You can enable/disable the editor for the description field in the price package GD – Prices and Payments – Prices – Package – Disable editor? – Yes
2.) For the ‘Category’ option, we are only allowing one category per listing, so can we remove the ‘set ________ as default category’ option after they select their category from the dropdown?
You can adjust the field settings at GD – Place Settings – Custom Fields – Category – Category Display Type – Select (Ajax Chained is the type that allows setting of default category as a multiselect).
3.) The region and city is currently displaying our default location by default… is there any way to have the region box default to ‘Region’ instead of ‘Florida’ and the city box default to ‘City’ instead of ‘Boca Raton’?
No, there isn’t a setting for that. You could potentially hide ‘Florida’ with CSS but that would not be useful if your user is trying to claim Florida. I will flag this in case the developers have an easy fix.
Do share your details as Kor suggested, and do also check to make sure your Google Maps Key allows the new site. You can inspect the page with the console to see if GMAPS is throwing an API key related error.
Hello,
There are 2 reasons that I can think of.
1, perhaps you have added a widget for related listings to the detail page at WP – Appearance – Widgets. In that case, remove the widget
2, perhaps you have implemented a customization for your tabs, which is overriding the settings. In which case you can remove the customization.
Let us know what you find out
Hello,
you can override this with custom code: https://www.google.co.uk/search?&q=site%3Awpgeodirectory.com+codex+breadcrumbs
It is not possible with settings to make the breadcrumbs use a different schema than the URLs, though.
More about GD Permalinks here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-permalinks/#urlFrom that page:
Add full location info with country, region and city slug in listing urls:
Use this option if your directory covers more than one region and/or country.
You can also use this option if your site only covers one region or city, but you want to include the full location in the URL of your listings.
Example: mydomain.com/places/united-states/texas/dallas/hotels/my-listingAwesome, glad it’s working for you now. I will mark this as resolved.
Hello,
Can you show us with a URL and screenshot the changes you want to make?
If there is a quick fix with CSS we will try to help, but for big changes to your layout and to customize your style you should consider hiring a GD Expert.
You can turn off “send enquiry” for non-premium packages by removing “Email” from the “Post fields” that can be submitted.
Go to GD > Prices and Payments > Prices > choose to edit your non-premium package > make sure “Email” is not highlighted in the “Post fields” list. The custom field “email” in your custom fields for a custom post type, is the custom field that triggers the “send enquiry” link on the detail page.
Hello,
There a lots of ways to set it up, and the GD layouts have several options.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/#directoryYou could even take on using a shortcode in a widget if you are comfortable with some code: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-use-shortcodes-in-your-wordpress-sidebar-widgets/
Please make a private reply with your WP Admin credentials so we can see how you set it up.
