Great, glad you got it working 🙂

Business hours can be stored in OSM too.

Ah! Most of the GD Permalinks are not set, that is the issue.
I was checking through the sitemaps and couldn’t find any links that said “/feed/” per se, but I think the Google-y interface you were reading was talking in ‘code’ but if you have one of those links, you can feel free to share it, in case it is something different.
For this permalinks issue, though –
Easily fixed: You can set a page for each entry at GD > Permalinks
If the pages don’t yet exist, you can add them manually, or go to GD Tools > Page check and it will create them for you (only if they don’t yet exist).
Once you’ve done that, be sure to visit WP > Settings > Permalinks and re-save the settings there.
Let us know how it goes.
February 3, 2018 at 12:17 pm in reply to: Google Maps API key for staging and procution server #415759Dirk is right, it’s possible to use the same key.
I was saying scripting like using WPCLI https://developer.wordpress.org/cli/commands/option/
They may be able to get to it today, but they will definitely be back in the office on Monday.
Ah, good test!
WP 4.9 introduced some changes about roles, including an interface for managing the permissions.
If you put up another site and install the plugins you need, you should be able to compare and contrast.
Or you could review the docs here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities
For the DB, I will point you over here for some background on “Proper Uninstallation”
This reply has been marked as private. The customizer option comes with both Directory Starter, and then the GD options don’t change based on the theme. None of the right sidebar options effect the Supreme listing sidebar because it is part of the theme template. It is not a bug of Supreme.

If you want to start with OSM, you may end up without any issues at all switching to Google later if needed. You may also end up with several more cities, and some of them may not be named as you expect, but merging them isn’t hard, and that is one of the reasons that feature exists. Switching to Google is never hard if you have complete street address data because you can always just go back and geocode your export CSV in bulk, too.
I have been working on OSM and OSM apps and projects using OSM for many years now. I would say it is definitely AWESOME to use OSM, especially if you are doing something in a small town or a limited area.
I would say that, for a global directory, your geocoding results are likely to be more of what is ‘expected’ with Google. That doesn’t mean you will get bad results with OSM. Members have written in about geocoding issues with both APIs/datasets. With OSM you can go and make changes directly; with Google, not so much.
But don’t let that talk about accuracy push OSM out of the running for right projects. It’s cheaper, more hands on, and fixable. The best thing about OSM is that you can literally go and edit the map. I have traced many thousands of kilometers of roadways across Africa, SE Asia, and more. I love drawing in the details of parks and beaches, and I definitely recommend joining up with the OSM list serves for the area/country etc for some interesting conversation. The non-profit geotourism programs I work with uses OSM heavily and even sent a participant to last year’s conference in the Philippines. FUN!
It is definitely a good idea to consider how many listings you will have, and what you intend to do with the data in the long run. If your idea is to contribute the point data back to OSM, then using OSM is a
- great
way to go, and I will give you a round of applause, too. OSM is a great way to setup a project for a community and to be able to hand it over without a thought about the API key or ongoing costs.
If you mean like “+New Local Bike Shop” , yes.
In your video a lot of your links were colored, too, I didn’t see the same thing, but a lot of plugins were disabled at the time.
Hello!
Supreme Directory child has a heavily customized listing page. I don’t know of a way to disable the sidebar map there, but you should know that this same page is used for search, so it would not be possible to disable it for listing pages only without additional customization.
I will flag this for the developers in case they have an easy solution at hand.
February 3, 2018 at 11:26 am in reply to: The Shop page of woocommerce is no working with Directory Starter Theme #415739Hello,
I have checked all the settings and I cannot find the issue; I will flag this for the developers to take a look today if possible, or Monday when they return to the office.
Mike,
I was able to login, activate GD, and open up a local bike shop for edit in the backend. Is that what you were trying to do?
Could it be your browser cache or a chrome extension?
