Also, if what you said is correct and the Map needs all that to work properly, then how come only the homepage map is failing, but it’s working fine on a specific category listing page like the following screenshot? Plz see attached:
I get it. But what I was looking for is that if the Advanced Search is a plugin or comes with a shortcode, I could use that on an empty page where all the search criteria would show up, but not as a drop down … is that possible?
Do you mean all entries must have categories? Why it’s not working for the ones that already have categories. It’s just saying “No Records Found”? Also, how it’s working for ‘EVERY WHERE’then if the above things are missing. Also, don’t understand what you mean by ‘Location’ page?
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Kor, I understand about the auto zoom setting. But I’m trying to make the U.S. map look like this:
http://dan.devhtmlfive.com/location/united-states/
The whole map of the U.S. visible on the front page. That’s what my client wants … but I just cannot make it the default view … can you help?
I’ve created an Admin user for you guys here (private reply)…

Thanx Alex. So you are saying the using the featured listing option in the Payment & Pricing should automatically give priority to the Premium listings, right? If yes, that’s good. But we also have a Standard listing ($50/mo) and the FREE one. How can I give priority to Standard one over the FREE ones? Plz, let me know. Cuz I’m setting only the Premium ones with ‘Featured Listing’ status. But I don’t have anything for the Standard one … thanx.

Sorry I meant to say ‘Satellite’ view not ‘terrain’ view … it always defaults to Satellite, I’d like it to default to ‘Map’. thx.
Also, I managed to make the Map show up on the frontend with your help. But it always defaults to ‘terrain’, which is hideous … I have to click Map every time to get the normal map. Any idea how to make the normal map as default? Thanx in advance.
Thanx for pointing me in the right direction … one of my junior devs changed the pass … Could you plz look into this btw, cuz the Map is not showing up for this install … here is the link and access:

Hi Alex,
I was just looking into the Custom Post Type add-on. Do you think,
1. It is possible to create a CPT which is identical to our ‘Listing’ and load up our data under that CPT?
2. Does ‘Places’ always have to be primary in Geo Dir? Can a new CPT created by CPT addon be the primary post type?3. What you think about this idea … how about if we change the CPT ‘Places’ to look like our ‘Listing’, I mean by replacing all the taxonomies and custom fields and then load up some data to test it … how do you think that will impact the frontend look and feel … just brainstorming here … cuz I AM LOST!!
Thanx Alex. Here are a few things I’m having problems with:
1. What to use to export our Listing data to a .csv file? I mean, do you know of any tool that can do it in a way which is compatible with Geo?
2. I understand exporting ‘Places’ data to .csv file. But how to merge that data with our data? We do have over 5000 listings with images … in that case, how to handle the images, manually?
3. Our Listing data is also attached to membership info … not sure how to handle that either … but I guess, we need to handle one thing at a time. Any input on this will be helpful.
4. Our listing data is from all over the U.S. and also have some global data. I guess we need a multi-location add-on?
5. You mentioned that an expert can help us with that, but where to find the expert and how much that might cost us, any idea?
Plz, help! Thanx in advance.
