Thanks, Kiran and Alex for the followup. It’s a shame a direct link to renewal isn’t available anymore but thanks for the workaround regarding the [#listing_link#] shortcode. I guess I am assuming the renewal link was a direct link but now that I think about it, I can’t recall ever testing it out in the past.
Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking of drafting a backup set of instructions in case of this not working out, so I’ll use your idea of using the listing_link to direct them to the relevant link.
Thanks for all the info and help, Alex.
Yes, it’s a paid package set to expire. For instance, today I tested some notification emails with the following 2-day expiration: (Alive Days: 365; Expire date: 2019-02-05).
The expiry notification for 2 days is set to send some of the following:
Dear [#client_name#], Your listing, [#listing_link#], in our directory will lose the benefits of... If you wish to retain these benefits <a href="[#renew_link#]">you may renew your membership here.</a> [#renew_link#] To log in, use your login ID, <em>[#username#]</em> or your Email, <em>[#user_email#]</em>; and password.
The email has all the shortcodes working, such as a proper listing link, proper username, and email, but the renew link isn’t generated and appears as:
If you wish to retain these benefits you may renew your membership here. [#renew_link#]
I’m at a loss since I haven’t found anything in the forums regarding issues with this specific shortcode.
Ha! I was thinking of subtracting the dates (3-2=1), not that the email is counting down from 0. I also forgot about the GD tools. Many thanks for your help.
Now to figure out why my shortcode [#renew_link#] was sent as plaintext like so:
you may renew your membership here: [#renew_link#]
It’s back to searching the forums and such.
Good point. Apologies for not being more clear.
I am editing the Listing Expiry notifications. However, I was hoping by changing my test listing to expire in 1 day (Alive Days: 365; Expire date: 2019-02-03) it would trigger the expiry email.
The listing is: Claimed by my test email account, has a correctly spelled email, and has received the “Listing published email” notification from editing the day to expire (tomorrow).
I checked my email plugin (Postman SMTP) and it only shows the last 3 emails sent were:
The Listing Published Email ADMIN BCC COPY
The Listing Published Email to client
Another Plugin’s EmailSorry for the bump, but I wanted to say thank you!
Cheers.
Thanks. That was it. So mny settings to check with, I sometimes forget what I’ve done earlier.
I take it theirs no way to set the zoom level universally in the settings?
