Guys, it is a mess, not sure why it is happening.
Again, I logged in to the site, the upgrade was forced on us, I didn’t do anything.

The directory got upgraded automatically, see the screenshot:

In this state directory simply not working – the blank page is displayed instead of the directory page.

It is a second time I have to roll back the site manually to the old version.
Please let me know what’s going on.

Oh, I think I just confused a bit, you basically saying that the simplest solution would be to link from the navigation menu to here: https://allontario.ca/places/canada/ontario/

Sure, it will work! The only tiny snag is this one:

    a. Is there a way to remove the yellow writing that says that it searches within the specific region?
    b. This is not mandatory, just curious – if I search from that specific listing location (like in Ontario) does it by default shows the results only pertinent from this location?

“but why do you not just link to that page from your menu”

    Because of that – https://imgur.com/a/YYlL1A4

It is named Ontario business directory and 99% of our clients are from Ontario.
Do I understand you correctly that there is no way to have the map zoomed on Ontario?

Alex, the page looks different now: https://imgur.com/a/gulgCAg

Did you change it? If you did <sigh> – do you think it makes sense to inform the client about the changes?

    *** Only to Guust (below)

If I understand it correctly there is a way to achieve it by displaying this url to users: https://allontario.ca/places/canada/ontario/

How do I set my main listings page (https://allontario.ca/places/) to show this url – https://allontario.ca/places/canada/ontario/
I can probably do a simple redirect, but is there a way to do it through GD settings?

    Thank you

    Same old story…

    1. Alex, you seem to be rushing all the time, I don’t understand your answer – “You can listings in BC and FL”

    2. Guust, can you provide a second opinion? We had this issue before and you were able to fix it.

P.S. We had 99% of our listings in Ontario and this is our main client base, we can’t have it ‘centered’ in united stated.

    Thank you.

Thanks Guust, I think this is something that can be improved by setting a dedicated email address for directory management admin in future versions.

Here is my scenario – I’m managing the site for my client and I would like to receive WordPress notifications of course. But I definitely don’t want to receive notifications from GeoDirectory about tons of registrations or listing edits.

On the other hand – if I place an email of my client in WP Settings > General, then she will receive all the default wordprerss notifications which I don’t want her to see and I might miss on the important ones.

    Thank you.

Taake a look at my original question
WordPress user deletion prompts to ‘remove all content’ as one of the options. If I choose this – will the listing be removed as well)?

    Your first reply:

No, listings will not be deleted with the user.

I hope you understand that this is incorrect answer.
As mentioned in the previous posts – more often than not you rush to answer the questions and speed comes with incorrect replies. I would rather wait longer for the reply longer but receive a quality answer that is not misleading.

    Cheers.
P.S. I understand that I cannot choose support personnel, but at this point I will be forced to double-check your answers with my own testing before relaying it to my clients. Not very efficient use of the time to be honest.

Just deleted the user, checked ‘remove content’ and it deleted the listing as well.

I’m sorry Alex, I have received so many wrong answers from you in tha past as well that I don’t think I cannot rely on them anymore. I’ don’t mean it to be personal, but I provide support for my clients and I need to be sure that I get the answers I can relate to them.

‘The count does not appear accurate, to me, so I will take this question for the developers.”

Why do you say the count does not appear accurate?

    – As I mentioned those are the users moved from the old installation, what is so unusual about them having 0 posts? Could be spam registrations – for starters?
    – I know for a fact that there is nothing unusual for a WordPress user to have 0 posts and definitely this is not the case where I should raise the red flag and contact developer if one of my users have 0 posts

Can I please have a second opinion from other support guys? Guust, Kor, and Paolo usually provide much to-the-point answers. Sorry.

I would appreciate somebody answering this question (as per original post):

We are thinking about cleaning up the users moved from the old installation – if the user shows 0 posts – does this mean he has no listings and it is safe to delete?

    Thank you.

Reply from the hosting guys – it took me 2 nasty emails to their supervisor and the manager to get them to acknowledge that they screwed up.Sorry you had to deal with this and thank you for your patience.

First, I would like to apologize for the way this ticket was handled! I have already remarked the supporters who worked on it so such cases can be avoided in the future.

I would like to mention that the php.ini file was not created by us, still I agree that the issue should have been resolved by our technical support in a timely manner. I do believe this was an isolated case and we will manage to change your experience with our support service in positive direction.
