Thankyou Naveen, all sorted!
Ohk awesome! Weird it wasn’t working for me and I was just copy pasting it from the website with no white spaces…. hopefully not a PEBKEC 😉
Thanks Stiofan.
Hi Alex,
Turns out my regex expression wasn’t actually wrong, but the validation field does not need the’/’ character at the start and end of the expression.
Hi Guust,
I’ve applied that change and saved changes but it keeps re-enabling the setting everytime i refresh. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be a viable workaround in the meantime anyway. The dropdown auto completer is a staple feature in any real estate site for users so I think I’ll just have to persist for now…sadly.
It’s interesting that this feature is implemented for the add listing page but cannot be done for gd_search rather easily? Is it completely different or something?
Cheers,
FraserHi Kor,
Thanks for your response. My website url is: rentswap.com.au
Is it also possible to remove the ‘In:’ as well as ‘Near’ with css?For the maximum results, I was hoping to fix the fact that when I clicked into the search box it would automatically suggest all of the ‘In:’ locations because they were saved in the backend from my previous test listings. For example if I put in the letter ‘D’ it would suggest all of them locations even if they didn’t start with D…and then I’d have to keep typing to remove them suggestions. It’s kind of irritating from a UI perspective…
Thanks 🙂
Please disregard. Opening a new threat for regex help instead. Not sure how to delete this.
P.S. If anyone needs a better explanation of what I mean:
if you go to a big real estate site such as realestate.com.au you will see the listing titles are the addresses themselves. Can I do this ?
That solved my issue, thanks Alex!
February 20, 2020 at 1:22 am in reply to: Renaming 'neighborhood' to suburb and location directory question #531321Yup I’ve gone ahead and renamed Neighborhood to Suburb and Region to State so it plays nicely with the autofill from google address input. This is all sorted now. Thanks for your help!
That’s super unfortunate. It would be amazing if you implement this soon as it would make the search experience smoother and quicker. Is it possible I could work around this using my own search bar/search form and integrate google autocomplete or would this not play nicely when hitting search and loading the correct pages? Thanks Stiofan.

February 19, 2020 at 7:53 am in reply to: Renaming 'neighborhood' to suburb and location directory question #531146Also Alex,
I noticed I cannot REMOVE the predefined fields on the Add new listing form?
I don’t want some things such as tags etc…
Many thanks
Hi Guust,
Upon further testing, the issue no longer occurs for google auto complete on the Add Listing page. But still occurs on the gd_search shortcode…
Any advice?
Thanks

I’m unsure if your response is the solution to my issue. I don’t think custom post types are my issue, nor translating the language (Australians speak English anyway). I’ve attached a photo of what I’m trying to change…is that possible to change?
Thanks,
