Excellent, thank you.
Hi Kor,
Site still local so cant share. Could figure the CSS but would rather a more robust removal. I am happy to delve about but simply cannot find where it is initiated, either in the template or functions.
Anthony
OK,
so I edit the description in my other CPT’s and their descriptions also show up on the listings page.
Removing the descriptions from the CPT’s and of course they don’t show, so I assume the description is meant to appear somewhere. Not sure why it appeared where it did or what triggered the appearance (I’ve been working on this site for a while) and not seen them.
Still interested to know what happened.
Hi Kor,
Yes, it is inside “geodir_wrapper” div ID. It’s so strange as I’ve not worked on CPT’s.
Going to keep look till I find I guess.
OK, I’m going to hunt around a little more see if I can find out whats going on.
Just for interest this is the div its generating just below the header class.<div class="term_description">Classifieds post format</div>
Thanks I’ll get back if I cant solve the problem.
Hi Kor,
Yes all my cpt’s have a description as per the screenshot, only now one of them is displaying that description on the front end at the top of the listings page. It had not at any point before
No other cpt is displaying this behavior and I don’t now why this is displaying the description and the other are not.
Will leaving the description field blank stop it displaying or is the description field necessary for some other purpose?
Is this field meant to display on the front end if so then why are the others not?
Its a mystery to me
February 4, 2017 at 9:30 pm in reply to: Supreme Directory Remove Map Sidebar Non-Location CPT #355108Hi Paolo,
unfortunately I’m on a local development environment. Also as the site develops there will be other cpt’s that are without location, so knowing how to fix this myself is important.
I quite happy to dig around in the code. and have located the actions and function that display the map and sidebar on the listings page in the theme comparability file, but am unsure how to reference a particular cpt to filter it.
One idea I had was to create a seperate listings template without the map but that seems a somewhat inelegant solution.
Thanks, Anthony
Hi Paolo,
That’s great. Only testing so will delete the listings and try again.
Thanks
Hi Kor,
Yes I have done that, but what I need to do is remove the actual map on the listing page for that CPT which is for online entities.
I could maybe create separate template for that CPT but had hoped to find a simpler solution.
Thanks.
HI Paolo,
Yes, that is what I thought and what I have.
On one site I am working on there will be a relatively small number of categories, so I was hoping to find a way of displaying categories from Events, Places and another cpt together on the home page map.
Had just hoped to find an easy way of doing this.
Thanks anyway, Anthony
Hi Kor,
Unfortunately I’m working on a local development environment.
So just to clarify, are you saying that categories from say both “places” and “events” should display on the home page by default? If so, then I must have altered something in the settings that’s changed that.
I am using the Supreme Directory theme if that has any influence over map settings.
Thanks, Anthony
Ah, I understand now.
Thank you Stiofan
OK, I seem to have solved this issue, though I’m not exactly sure how!
Think I had somehow messed up the WP or GD settings.
Anyway all is working now
Anthony
Hi Paolo,
Thanks for taking a look.
I’m going to mess with this over the weekend, if I cant fix the issue I’ll put the site up on a live server on Monday.
I’ll let you know then.
Thanks, Anthony
Hi Stiofan
Good to know and looking forward to it. Sure it will be a really useful addition to the plugin.
Thank,
Anthony
